Title

1896 Church Building

Description

On October 14, 1894 the cornerstone was laid for the church building on the south bank of the Pequabuck River near the intersection of Orchard and School Streets. The 1894 church building became too small for the increasing size of the congregation. In 1896 the cornerstone was laid for the church building to be moved across the street to the corner of School and Orchard Streets. The church building was enlarged and the interior renovated. In 1897 the congregation numbered 351 with 217 communicant members. No pictures exist of the 1894 church, here is shown a photo of the 1896 church building.
